Thorn rope, commonly known as iron thistle, thorn silk or thorn thread in folk culture, is a type of isolation and protective net made by a fully automated rope machine. Its main raw material is high-quality low-carbon steel wire, and the surface treatment process includes galvanizing, hot-dip galvanizing, coating and spraying, with colors including blue, green, yellow, etc.


Thorn ropes can be divided into two types: single wire twisted knitting and double wire twisted knitting. The twisting methods include forward twisting, reverse twisting, and forward reverse twisting.
Positive twisting method: Twist two or more iron wires into a double stranded wire rope, and then wrap the wire rope around the double stranded wire.
Reverse twisting method: First, wrap the barbed wire around a single iron wire, then add another iron wire and twist it into a double stranded barbed rope.
Positive and negative twisting method: Twist the main wire in the opposite direction from where the self piercing wire is wrapped, not in one direction.

In order to enhance the anti-corrosion strength and extend the service life, the barbed wire needs to undergo surface treatment.

Common surface treatments include:
Galvanized barbed wire: surface galvanized, there are two types: electroplated galvanized and hot-dip galvanized.
PVC barbed wire: The surface is treated with PVC wrapping.
