1. Definition and Overview
Bag filter is a pressure filtration device that uses bag shaped filter materials made of organic or inorganic fiber filter cloth to filter and separate impurities in fluids (liquids or gases). It is widely used in industrial production and environmental protection fields.
2. Structural composition
Filter housing: Materials usually include stainless steel, carbon steel, plastic, etc. Stainless steel material is widely used due to its corrosion resistance, high strength, and ability to adapt to various working conditions.
Replaceable filter bag: made of materials such as polyester, nylon, PP (polypropylene), PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), etc. Different materials of filter bags have different filtration accuracies and applicable media. For example, PTFE is resistant to strong acids, nylon is resistant to grease, and the filtration accuracy is generally between 1-200 microns.
Supporting basket: used to support filter bags and prevent them from collapsing due to water pressure during filtration, which can affect the filtration effect.
Other components: including inlet and outlet pipelines, valves, pressure gauges, etc. The pressure gauge is used to monitor pressure changes during the filtration process and indicate whether the filter bag needs to be replaced.
3. Working principle
The fluid to be filtered enters the housing from the inlet of the filter, penetrates the filter bag under pressure, and impurities are trapped inside the filter bag. The clean fluid flows out from the outlet. As the filtration progresses, the accumulation of impurities increases the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the filter bag. When it reaches the set value (usually 0.1-0.3 MPa), the filter bag needs to be replaced to ensure the filtration effect.
4. Product classification
According to the number of bags: there are single bag filters and multiple bag filters. Multi bag type is suitable for high flow filtration, with various specifications ranging from 2 bags to 24 bags.
By structural form: such as rocker bag filters (easy to replace filter bags and reduce labor costs), high-precision bag filters, insulation jacket filters (can maintain or increase fluid temperature), etc.
According to the liquid entry method: divided into side entry and top entry. Side entry type can be matched with any feeding port connection direction, making cleaning convenient; The top in type adopts the traditional top in low out filtration method, and the filter bag is not easily affected by turbulence.

7. Operation and maintenance
Operation: Install the corresponding fineness grade filter bag into the filter cartridge, check the O-ring seal, and tighten the ring bolt on the filter cartridge cover to start working. After the pump is started, the initial pressure is about 0.05MPa, and the pressure increases with the use of more filter residue.
Maintenance: When the pressure difference of the filter reaches 2-3 kilograms, or when the pressure difference reaches about 1 kilogram according to process requirements, the filter bag needs to be replaced. The service life of filter bags is affected by factors such as raw water turbidity, filtration time, flow rate, and filtration area. Non oil medium filter bags can be backwashed and dried before reuse (generally limited to 3 times), and high-value filter bags can be treated with ultrasonic cleaning machines.
